SKYWARN
Your local SKYWARN organization

What is SKYWARN?  Simply put, it is a group of emergency management volunteers and amateur radio operators who are trained to identify and report severe weather conditions.  This information with a recommendation from these trained spotters is used by local law enforcement to determine if it is necessary to activate the outdoor sirens for that particular city within Des Moines County.  To learn more about SKYWARN, click on the link below.  If you think you would like to join SKYWARN, just fill out the electronic Inquiry form and submit it. We are part of Des Moines County Emergency Management, located at 512 N. Main St. Ste. 1, Burlington Iowa 52601.
